Pilots Down
The South Louisiana aviation community suffered a great loss last night with the passing of two beloved and talented pilots.
Lauren was not only my sister in the NOLA 99s and my fellow Civil Air Patrol squad mate, but also a true friend. She had an infectious smile that brightened everyone’s day and was always eager to offer advice, guidance, and even flight instruction to anyone wanting to learn. Above all, Lauren was a cheerleader for everyone and a remarkable human being.
While I didn’t have the privilege of knowing Lyle personally, he was widely respected as one of the top aviators and DPEs in the region. He ran a successful business and lived life to its fullest.
Both of them will leave a profound void in the hearts of their family, friends, and in our close-knit community of pilots. Fly high, Lauren and Lyle. You will never be forgotten.
